Description:
- Drives improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers.
- Provides technical support in the selection of suppliers.
- Develops acceptance criteria for materials.
- Monitors supplier performance to drive corrective actions, manufacturing yield issues, and field failures.
- Ensures compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities. Support the introduction of components from new suppliers.
- Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures. Train inspectors accordingly.
- Develop and source inspection tools and equipment.
- Assist in generating component specifications.
- Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports, and approve components for use.
- Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.
- Analyze incoming material defects and drive corrective actions, communicating issues to suppliers.
- Review new design specifications and provide input from a quality and manufacturability perspective.
- Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans.
- Perform tasks within a quality system environment, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
- Lead moderate scope projects and guide less experienced staff.
Education/Experience:
- BS degree in engineering or related scientific field plus 9 years of related work experience, or Master's degree with 0-2 years of related experience.
