Job description

Job Title:

Senior Supplier Quality Engineer

Location:

Plymouth, MN

Duration:

12-month Contract

Work Type:

Onsite

Pay Range:

$57.55/Hr

Description:
  • Drives improvement and corrective action in the quality of components sourced from outside suppliers.
  • Provides technical support in the selection of suppliers.
  • Develops acceptance criteria for materials.
  • Monitors supplier performance to drive corrective actions, manufacturing yield issues, and field failures.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Assess potential new suppliers for technical, quality, and manufacturing capabilities. Support the introduction of components from new suppliers.
  • Generate and maintain incoming inspection procedures. Train inspectors accordingly.
  • Develop and source inspection tools and equipment.
  • Assist in generating component specifications.
  • Generate test protocols, monitor testing, issue qualification test reports, and approve components for use.
  • Provide input to Design Engineering on new component technology and assist in component selection with quality and reliability analysis.
  • Analyze incoming material defects and drive corrective actions, communicating issues to suppliers.
  • Review new design specifications and provide input from a quality and manufacturability perspective.
  • Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans.
  • Perform tasks within a quality system environment, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
  • Lead moderate scope projects and guide less experienced staff.
Education/Experience:
  • BS degree in engineering or related scientific field plus 9 years of related work experience, or Master's degree with 0-2 years of related experience.
