Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Senior Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for overseeing and managing the quality of products and services from external suppliers. The role involves conducting supplier assessments, identifying quality issues, driving improvement plans, and collaborating with suppliers to achieve optimal quality performance. The position requires extensive travel to supplier locations for on-site audits and evaluations.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in quality engineering practices, data analysis, and possess strong communication skills to influence and guide suppliers toward continuous improvement.

This is a remote position with up to 75% travel, depending on location. Candidates should reside within reasonable distance of a major airport.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supplier selection and evaluation: Assess potential suppliers' capabilities through technical reviews, quality system audits, and site visits.
2. Supplier performance monitoring: Track quality metrics like defect rates and delivery performance to identify improvement areas.
3. Quality improvement initiatives: Develop and implement corrective action plans addressing quality issues.
4. Supplier development: Provide technical guidance and training to improve manufacturing processes and quality systems.
5. New product introduction: Collaborate with engineering to ensure new components meet specifications.
6. Incoming inspection oversight: Review and approve inspection procedures.
7. Non-conformance management: Investigate issues, initiate corrective actions, and manage SCARs.
8. Data analysis and reporting: Use statistical tools to analyze quality data and generate performance reports.
9. Compliance management: Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulations.
10. Mentorship and leadership: Guide junior engineers in supplier quality management practices.

Compensation Range:

$90,000 - $112,500. Compensation considers role responsibilities, location, experience, and skills.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of quality engineering principles
• Experience with supplier quality management systems and audits
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to travel for on-site assessments
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
• Engineering degree (preferred)
• Proven experience in a similar role

Citizenship and Work Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a security investigation. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
