BAE Systems is hiring a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to support its Louisville, Kentucky manufacturing site. This is a full-time onsite position supporting the production floor, addressing all supplier-caused issues.

In this role as a senior-level Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting several products within a given program area/market segment. You will work in an Integrated Project Team (IPT) environment and will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of quality for the team. You will be the single point of contact for production on supplier concerns.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time implementation of corrective actions and verification of preventative action effectiveness.
• Obtain customer approval to use nonconforming parts that have been repaired.
• Review and approve First Article Inspections (FAI).
• Review and approve Vendor Information Requests (VIR).
• Perform continuous improvement activities to enhance departmental and program capabilities in inspection, cost of quality, process control, or efficiency.
• Investigate and troubleshoot to find the true root cause of supplier issues through process audits.
• Gather and report weekly and monthly quality metrics for all assigned suppliers.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, with four years of related Quality Assurance experience, or equivalent experience.
• Quality experience within manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Experience managing a Quality Management System.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office, TipQA, Oracle, and Windchill.
• Strong planning and time management skills.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to support in-person at the Louisville, Kentucky site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with government quality oversight organizations.
• Familiarity with APQP and Welding processes.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements.
• Experience with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards.
• Background in Lean, process improvements, Six Sigma, SPC, and PFMEA.

Pay Range

Full-Time Salary Range: $86,460 - $146,982

Note: Salaries are influenced by market pay structures, candidate skills, education, experience, and other factors.
