Job summary

Divergent seeks a Senior Supplier Quality & Development Engineer to lead supplier quality and development for high‑tech manufacturing in Torrance, CA. You will drive APQP/PPAP, lead audits, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure quality across components and materials.

You’ll manage RCCA, containment, and supplier performance metrics while mentoring QC and buyers, with up to 50% travel to supplier sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• 7–8 years progressive supplier quality engineering experience.
• Expertise in APQP, PPAP, and FMEA; strong automotive quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between production, procurement, suppliers and customers to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develop, maintain, and improve supplier quality manuals, procedures, and inspection plans.
• Interpret and flow down customer requirements to suppliers via purchase orders.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and source inspections to verify standards.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions to improve OTD, scrap, rework, and repair costs.
• Oversee containment for defects and RCCA processes to prevent recurrence.
• Develop training programs for QC and buyers on problem solving and Lean concepts.
