Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality & Development Engineer to lead the supplier quality program for its Torrance, CA headquarters and Long Beach area suppliers. You will build, maintain, and improve supplier quality systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and performance across the supply base.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• Minimum 7–8 years of progressive supplier quality engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, GD&T, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between production, procurement, suppliers, and customers to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain supplier quality manuals, procedures, and inspection plans.
• Interpret customer requirements and flow them down to suppliers via purchase orders.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and source inspections to verify standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce OTD, scrap, and rework costs.
• Oversee containment for defects and drive RCCA processes to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate MRB activities for supplier-origin nonconformances.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities via data analysis, site assessments and tooling validation.
• Track KPIs such as OEE, cost, and capability to drive improvements.
• Develop and lead QC/buyer training on problem solving, Lean concepts, and best practices.
• Travel up to 50% to support supplier development and audits.
