Joby Aviation, based in the United States, seeks a Sr./Staff level Supplier Industrialization Engineer to own end-to-end industrialization across a broad commodity portfolio. You will lead development, qualification, and scaling of manufacturing processes with suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and high quality for production ramps.

You will influence DFM feedback and manage supplier audits and QUAL submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, process engineering, and/or supplier quality engineering (Staff level: 8+ years; Senior level: 5+ years).
• Deep understanding of GD&T, SPC, and process capability analysis (Cpk/Ppk).
• Direct experience with PPAP/APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and AS9102 FAIR or equivalent quality frameworks.
• Ability to manage urgent supplier issues and make real-time decisions on-site at a supplier facility.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; cross-functional collaboration capability.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally; valid passport or ability to obtain one.

Responsabilités

• Lead development, qualification, and scaling of manufacturing processes across diverse commodities.
• Drive NPI at supplier sites, optimizing tooling, equipment, and workflows for yield and cycle time.
• Influence DF(M) design for manufacturability through material selection and tolerancing feedback.
• Lead supplier audits and qualification assessments; gatekeeper for Approved Supplier List.
• Develop and manage supplier quality plans, PFMEAs, control plans, and PPAP submissions.
• Own AS9102 FAIR execution and ensure completeness before routing to SQE.
• Lead deep-dive investigations into material failures and implement 8D/CAPA solutions.
• Collaborate with Design, Quality, GSM, and Manufacturing teams to align on supplier metrics.
• Guide suppliers in robust process development and create training materials.
