Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting (can include up to 6 hours in business law).
• Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years in accounting with 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing or CPA/CIA certification.
• Time-in-grade: one year at GS-13 to meet GS-14 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Implement financial policies, procedures, or internal controls to manage accounting operations in compliance with statutes and regs.
• Analyze financial data or records to identify discrepancies or errors in operations.
• Develop or monitor corrective action plans from audits or internal control reviews.
• Oversee or lead a team of accounting professionals to plan, assign, or evaluate work.
• Advise managers on accounting policies, procedures, or internal controls.
