Overview

Job Summary

The Senior Incoming QC Lab Supervisor oversees all QC activities related to verifying requirements of incoming, in-process, and finished goods materials. They ensure compliance with company procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans, directing QC staff to execute all tasks. The role also involves staff training and resource management, requiring advanced knowledge of mechanical inspections, processes, equipment, GD&T, and blueprint reading.

The salary range for this position is currently $100,000 - $125,000 annually. Compensation is based on the candidate's qualifications, including experience, skills, education, certifications, and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Experience with receiving inspections
  • Mechanical inspections, processes, equipment, GD&T, and blueprint reading
  • Development of complex QC inspection methods
  • Superior QC technical skills
  • Experience with measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges
  • Experience with vision systems such as micro-VU or Keyence
  • Leading and guiding staff to ensure compliance with quality management systems
  • Leading cross-functional efforts to resolve product performance issues and update SOPs and training materials
  • Supporting the Material Review Board in NCR material dispositions
  • Ensuring staff are trained and capable of their inspection responsibilities
  • Managing QC deadlines and schedules
  • Leading CAPAs to successful completion
  • Creating QC validation protocols and reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 12 years of progressive Quality experience in a GMP QC lab
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in regulated medical device or IVDD manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 environments required

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to interpret requirements and apply quality control practices
  • Understanding of ISO 13485, GMP, and GDP
  • Ability to train and mentor staff in inspection methodologies
  • Knowledge of process, gage, and equipment validation
  • ERP system experience (e.g., SAP) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
