Freeport‑McMoRan is seeking a Senior Supervisor Electrical Maintenance to lead the electrical maintenance team at the Morenci site in Arizona. The role focuses on supervising production support, coordinating with maintenance and operations, and ensuring safe, efficient plant performance.

Qualifications include a strong electrical/instrumentation background, journeyman level experience, and supervisory capabilities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 7 years supervisory/lead experience or
• Bachelor's in a technical mining-related discipline with 3 years supervisory/lead experience.
• Certifications or licensure may be required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and control safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit through subordinate Supervisors.
• Ensure production shifts continue via execution of production plans and schedules.
• Provide operations input for production and maintenance planning.
• Adhere to safety procedures and comply with federal/state laws and regulations.
• Inspect work units to ensure schedules and objectives are met.
• Coordinate daily with Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales teams.
• Directly supervise first-line or shift Supervisors.
• Perform other duties as required.

Where You Will Work

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

What You Will Do

Under general supervision, supervise, coordinate and control the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit through subordinate Supervisors.

• Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules
• Provide Operations input for production and maintenance planning
• Ensure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulations
• Inspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained
• Coordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including but not limited to Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales
• Directly supervise first-line or shift Supervisors
• Perform other duties as required

What You Bring To Freeport

• High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience
• Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques
• Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects
• Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
• Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 30 pounds) during the course of the workday
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or manufacturing plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Electrical & Instrumentation Expertise
• 5+ years of experience at the journeyman level in electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
• Strong working knowledge of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems and instrumentation.
• Production / Maintenance Background
• Demonstrated experience in milling operations or fixed plant maintenance.
• Familiarity with industrial processing equipment, preventive maintenance practices, and plant reliability principles.

• Strong commitment to safety and compliance in an industrial environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
• Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance programs
• Excellent communication and team coordination skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000 - $145,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
