Job summary

The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Supervising Director in Bristol, CT to oversee remote and REMI productions and guide multiple departments in delivering high-profile ESPN projects.

This leadership role requires strong production knowledge, mentorship of Directors, collaboration with Coordinating Producers on content philosophy, and the creation of innovative workflows that ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years directing experience with leadership/mentorship.
• In-depth knowledge of live directing.
• In-depth knowledge of production equipment and facilities.
• Strong ability to think and react quickly in a high pressure environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple remote and REMI production projects.
• Collaborate with production partners to launch productions and maintain standards, plus identifies workflows to suit changing business needs.
• Organizes and leads meetings for assigned projects, both within and across departments, to develop production and operational strategies.
• Proficient with all aspects of set design, animation packages, show budgets and remote planning.
• Direct the broadest possible range of productions including ESPN’s highest profile shows.
• Staff oversight with concentration toward Associate Directors and Stage Managers; provide feedback to Directors, Associate Directors and Stage Managers.
• Establish regular feedback and review sessions with all members of Directing; participate in weekly Directing management meeting.
• Leads teams to drive innovation and new workflows that embrace technology.
• Builds monthly schedules for Directors, Associate Directors and Stage Managers.
• Identifies, implements and tracks staff development opportunities.
• Contributes to recruitment and retention objectives.
• Holds staff accountable to maintain the Directing Department performance standards.
