Job summary

Wainwright Talent Partners seeks a Lead Superintendent for higher education projects in Connecticut. The role provides overall direction on projects, maintains strong working relationships with owners and architects, and ensures safety, quality, compliance, and timely turnover throughout the lifecycle.

You will supervise field personnel, coordinate with the Project Manager, manage subcontractors, and drive pre-construction, scheduling, and turnover activities while maintaining OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12 years of experience in construction fields.
• Applicable area licenses.
• Excellent team development and leadership abilities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and tight supervision.
• Budget and schedule judgment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, and document all day-to-day job site activities including OSHA safety compliance.
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan and supervisory principles.
• Communicate issues, events, performance, and progress daily to the Project Manager.
• Report problems promptly to the Project Manager to facilitate cost-effective solutions.
• Establish effective working relationships with Clients, team members, subcontractors, and Authorities having jurisdiction.
• Project Start-Up/Turnover Meeting.
• Scheduling: Assist formulating and implementing construction schedules in the field; establish and update the Baseline Schedule monthly.
• Safety: Ensure participation in safety pre-construction meetings and adherence to OSHA requirements.
• Quality Management: Establish benchmarks, ensure inspections are approved and communicated.
• Subcontractor and Site Management: mobilization, manage subcontractor performance, and site utilization plans.
• Meeting Management: Attend project turnover, mobilization, and coordination meetings.
• Project Closeout: Manage closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, and punch lists.
