Job summary

LG Group is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for multifamily, mixed-use, and high-rise residential developments in Chicago. This role blends development and construction leadership with collaboration across Development, Operations, and Executive teams, from preconstruction to project completion.

The Senior Superintendent will drive safety, quality, schedule adherence, workforce planning, and trade coordination while mentoring field teams and delivering high-impact Chicago

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of commercial construction experience with multifamily, mixed-use, high-rise or large projects.
  • Experience leading projects from ground-up through turnover and closeout.
  • Strong understanding of sequencing, scheduling, quality, safety, and field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field operations from preconstruction planning through turnover and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, recovery schedules, site logistics, and forecasts.
  • Lead pull planning sessions and implement Lean construction principles.
  • Collaborate with Development, Design, and Preconstruction teams to optimize delivery.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and stakeholders.
  • Drive sequencing and daily field execution to meet milestones.
  • Oversee site safety programs and ensure OSHA compliance.

Position Overview

LG Group is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations and construction execution for multifamily, mixed-use, and high-rise residential developments throughout Chicago.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead field operations from preconstruction planning through project turnover and closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, recovery schedules, site logistics plans, and workforce forecasts
  • Lead pull planning sessions and implement Lean Construction principles throughout project execution
  • Collaborate with Development, Design, and Preconstruction teams during planning and budgeting phases to optimize constructability and project delivery
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, consultants, and project stakeholders
  • Drive project sequencing and daily field execution to achieve schedule milestones
  • Identify schedule constraints, proactively mitigate risks, and implement corrective action plans when necessary
  • Oversee site safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards
  • Monitor quality control processes and ensure work aligns with project plans and specifications
  • Conduct field inspections, manage punch lists, and oversee closeout activities
  • Coordinate material deliveries, manpower planning, and project logistics
  • Track project progress and communicate schedule updates, risks, and field issues to project teams and leadership
  • Partner closely with Project Managers and leadership teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across project teams
  • Mentor and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field staff
Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop field teams while fostering a strong safety and performance culture
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
  • OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management platforms

  • Experience within a Develop-Build, Design-Build, or Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) environment
  • Additional safety certifications or advanced superintendent training
