Job summary

Bulley & Andrews, a Chicago-based construction firm, seeks a Senior Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations, safety, and performance on complex projects. The role demands a track record of delivering quality construction while guiding field teams and managing schedules.

Responsibilities include leading managers and field staff, coordinating with design teams, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in a Superintendent role or equivalent leadership in construction
• Proven track record of quality construction, performance, and leadership
• Excellent knowledge of construction management, safety protocols and industry best practices
• Superior communication, organization and negotiation skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining the project master schedule (6-week look-ahead)
• Lead and mentor a team of managers, including junior superintendents and field staff
• Review contract documents, identify quality issues and communicate corrective actions
• Participate in scope review prior to contract award
• Support long-range planning and procurement
• Chair job site meetings with client and design team and document outcomes
• Oversee all superintendent responsibilities on complex projects
• Ensure autonomous execution with minimal upper management involvement
• Monitor site safety and conduct regular safety audits
• Utilize BIM for coordination and conflict resolution with design teams
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings and site records
• Resolve inter-trade conflicts and enforce quality standards
• Understand and apply trade-specific collective bargaining agreements
• Support client satisfaction and opportunities for repeat work
