Senior Superintendent – Electrical Contractor (Mission Critical / Data Center Projects)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for complex electrical construction projects, with a strong emphasis on mission critical and data center environments. This role is responsible for overseeing all on-site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate brings deep electrical contracting experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record managing large-scale, fast-paced construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all field operations for electrical construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain project alignment and resolve issues proactively
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including short-interval planning and look-ahead schedules
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure installations meet project specifications and industry standards
- Manage material logistics, deliveries, and site coordination to avoid delays
- Conduct regular site meetings, inspections, and progress reporting
- Identify and mitigate project risks, including schedule impacts and constructability challenges
- Support commissioning, testing, and turnover activities for mission critical systems
Qualifications
- Minimum 8–12+ years of experience in electrical construction, with a focus on electrical contracting
- Proven experience as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent on large-scale projects
- Direct experience with mission critical or data center projects is required
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, and backup generation
- Demonstrated ability to manage large field teams and complex project schedules
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and coordination
- Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman or Master Electrician background
- Experience with commissioning processes in mission critical environments
- OSHA 30 certification (or equivalent)
- Familiarity with BIM/VDC coordination
- Primarily on active construction sites
