Job summary

SL Recruit in Raleigh seeks a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on a new ground-up aviation hangar project for a new client. This local, non-traveling role focuses on industrial and mission critical portfolio with emphasis on safety, schedule, and quality.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate subcontractors, and work closely with the Project Manager on RFIs, submittals, and cost control to deliver a complex project on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of field experience with a general contractor.
• Experience on industrial, mission critical or other technically complex projects preferred.
• Proven track record delivering large, complex projects safely and on schedule.
• Confident leadership and communication skills with multiple trades management.

Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations from mobilization through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Build and maintain the project schedule with three-week look-aheads and coordinate trades on site.
• Champion safety culture with daily oversight, site inspections, toolbox talks, and OSHA standards compliance.
• Supervise and mentor assistant superintendents, field engineers, and foremen; develop next-gen field leaders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, run regular coordination meetings, and hold trades to manpower, schedule, and quality.
• Collaborate with Project Manager on constructability reviews, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost control.
• Serve as field liaison with owner, architect, and engineers; cultivate client relationships.
• Oversee quality control programs, inspections, commissioning, punch lists, turnover.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation.

This Senior Superintendent will join the Raleigh team in a local, non-traveling role focused on the company’s growing industrial and mission critical portfolio. To start, you’ll lead field operations on a new ground-up aviation hangar project for a new client.

What You’ll Do

• Lead all field operations from mobilization through closeout, keeping the project safe, on schedule, within budget, and built to a high standard of quality.
• Build and maintain the project schedule, including three-week look-aheads, and coordinate the sequencing of all trades on site.
• Champion a strong safety culture by running daily safety oversight, site inspections, and toolbox talks, and by making sure every subcontractor meets company and OSHA standards.
• Supervise and mentor assistant superintendents, field engineers, and foremen, and help develop the next generation of field leaders.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, including running regular coordination meetings and holding trades accountable for manpower, schedule, and quality.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and project team on constructability reviews, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and cost control.
• Serve as a key point of contact for the owner, architect, and engineers in the field, and build strong relationships with a new client.
• Oversee quality control programs, inspections, commissioning coordination, punch lists, and turnover.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and project documentation.

What We’re Looking For

• 15+ years of field experience with a general contractor, including time as a Superintendent running ground-up commercial projects.
• Experience on industrial, mission critical, healthcare or other technically complex projects preferred
• A proven track record of delivering large, complex projects safely and on schedule.
• Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple trades and build trust with clients.
