Job summary

Skanska is seeking a dynamic Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on assigned projects, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

The role requires extensive construction experience, leadership across multiple projects, and a strong background in scheduling, risk management, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years actively creating a Safety and QA/QC culture.
  • 5+ years in a Top Leadership position for multiple projects.
  • 15+ years of Building and construction experience (DOB knowledge for NYC is a plus).
  • 15+ years experience scheduling and prioritizing activities.
  • 10+ years experience identifying and dealing with Risk & Mitigation procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee field operations on assigned project(s) to ensure safety, schedule, budget and quality.
  • Directly supervise field craft labor and non-craft personnel to meet contract requirements.
  • Mentor and develop talent within the field team.
  • Identify problem areas in challenging projects and set corrective direction.

The Senior Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the project(s) assigned and ensures the project/area is constructed in a safe, timely, profitable and ethical manner, in accordance with contract documents, design, budget, and schedule and in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. He/she directly supervises field craft labor and non-craft field personnel.

Senior Superintendent Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years actively creating a Safety and QA/QC Cultural
  • 5+ years in a Top Leadership position for multiple projects
  • 15+ years of Building and construction experience (For NYC-Knowledge of the DOB’s technical reports and Chapter 33)
  • 15+ years experience scheduling and prioritizing activities.
  • 10+ years experience identifying and dealing with Risk & Mitigation procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to Mentor and develop talent.
  • Proven experience stepping into a problem project and quickly identifying problem areas or concerns and setting direction for correcting the issue
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 10 years prior relevant experience.
