Job summary

CSA Engineering Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Substation and Protection at our Brookfield, CT office. You will lead substation design and protective-relay replacement projects, coordinating with structural engineers, designers, and equipment packagers across complex interconnection schemes.

The role requires 6–12 years of electrical engineering experience, an ABET-accredited degree, and the ability to lead teams while communicating with clients.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of electrical engineering experience.
• ABET-accredited four-year engineering degree.
• Valid driver’s license and legal to work in the US.
• Ability to lead designers and coordinate with other professionals.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Willingness to travel 2–4 days per month within the NYC Tri-State Area.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design and protective-relay replacement projects.
• Plan and execute projects from field investigation through issued-for-construction documents.
• Lead preparation and review of substation diagrams, protection schematics, relay logic diagrams, and control-power drawings.
• Develop relay replacement designs using existing drawings and field conditions.
• Oversee short-circuit and protection-coordination calculations.
• Supervise and provide technical direction to electrical designers.
• Review drawings for accuracy, constructability and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with clients, utilities, manufacturers, contractors, and testing firms.
• Support procurement by preparing specifications and evaluating equipment submittals.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design standards.
