Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer for our offices in Austin, Ft Worth, Houston, or Overland Park. This role supports the Power Delivery Substation Team, leads complex design projects, and mentors junior staff in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The position offers hybrid or in-office work with travel as needed. You will drive project execution, QA/QC, and client relations across multiple sites in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience delivering design deliverables for power projects.
• Engineer license required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure design, codes and practices.
• Ability to coordinate with subcontractors and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and quality for assigned projects.
• Manage relationships with alliance clients and provide project reporting.
• Perform detailed design of substations including one-line diagrams, SCADA, grounding and enclosure details.
• Provide construction support and inter-disciplinary coordination.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure QA/QC compliance.
• Occasional travel to project sites.
