Job summary

OG&E in Oklahoma City seeks a Senior/Lead Substation Engineer to act as a subject matter expert for power equipment, guiding evaluation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and operation. The role targets two levels; applicants are considered for the higher level they qualify for.

The Lead level requires a Professional Engineer (PE) designation and more extensive related experience. This role involves travel and a safety-sensitive environment in a utility setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with related experience.
• PE required for Lead level.
• Senior level requires 5 years related engineering experience (including 3 years as an Engineer).

Responsibilities

• Develop equipment specifications, perform FAT, and support factory acceptance testing.
• Develop test plans for power equipment commissioning, operations and maintenance.
• Provide on-site and remote support during routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs; lead root cause analysis.
• Interpret test results to ensure safe operation and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop technical procedures for Substation Operations and contractors.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and standards groups on issues and solutions.
• Support installation and development of substation monitoring equipment.
