Job summary

K&A Power Group in Greenville, SC seeks a Substation Planner III to lead planning for substation construction and maintenance. You will coordinate across Transmission, Distribution, and Engineering teams, develop work plans, review procedures, and ensure safety and compliance in fast-paced environments.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in transmission/substation work, strong scheduling skills, and experience with outage planning and tagging processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule all activities for substation construction and maintenance projects.

• Develop construction plans and work execution strategies.
• Lead planning discussions for projects of varying complexity.
• Coordinate with Transmission, Distribution, Generation, Engineering, and PM teams.
• Review and critique isolation procedures and sequencing plans.
• Provide peer-level technical support for substation work.
• Identify clearance boundary requirements and risks.
• Support outage requests, clearance requests, hot-line tags, and tagging processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues impacting project execution.
• Use drawings and databases to support planning activities.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Lead planning efforts and support other planners.
• Develop procedures and detailed work plans for safe execution.
• Coordinate with leadership and field personnel for successful delivery.
• Maintain focus and lead teams under pressure during complex operations.
• Promote exemplary safety practices and compliant work.
• Ensure paperwork is completed on time.
• Travel to project sites as required; mileage reimbursed.
