Job summary

Ampirical is hiring a Senior / Associate Staff Substation Physical Engineer in Duluth, GA. You will design high‑voltage substations, manage layouts, grounding, and BOMs, and prepare bid packages. Travel to client sites is required as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with a PE license, 7+ years for Senior or 12+ years for Associate Staff, and experience with ETAP, WinIGS, and IEEE standards. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• PE license required; in lieu of PE, 2+ years of experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate designs of high-voltage substation components.
• Design substation systems including general arrangement, equipment layout, grounding, conduit, BOMs.
• Prepare construction drawing packages for bids and review submittals for constructability.
• Perform quality reviews of electrical engineering work for peers and subcontractors.
• May act as Lead Engineer and Engineer of Record on projects.
• Assist project teams during construction on substation issues.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Travel to client sites as necessary.
