Ampirical in Duluth, GA seeks a Substation Physical Engineer Supervisor to lead the in-office substation physical design team. You will supervise, mentor, and design high-voltage substation components meeting industry standards.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (ABET), 8+ years of substation design experience, and a PE license is preferred. This role offers day-one benefits and a strong focus on professional growth.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of substation physical design experience.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and train engineering staff in substation physical design.
• Deliver accurate designs of high-voltage substation components meeting industry and client standards.
• Design substation systems and components including general arrangement, equipment layout, grounding, conduit, and bills of material.
• Prepare construction drawing packages for bids and review submittals for alignment with design and constructability.
• Perform quality reviews of electrical engineering work for peers and subcontractors.
• May act as Lead Engineer and Engineer of Record for assigned projects.
• Manage development of project proposals, bid preparation, and project schedules.
• Assist project teams during construction on substation-related issues.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Travel to client sites as necessary.
