Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Substation P&C Engineer for projects in the Northeast. Candidates may work from any location in the eastern time zone, with office-based or hybrid work preferred and remote options for qualified candidates.

The role focuses on protection and control design, relaying schemes, substation automation interfaces, and construction support, collaborating with utilities and private clients to deliver compliant, safe, and reliable substations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of post-education experience in protection and control or electrical design for large capital projects.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Experience with protection and control design packages and construction support.
• Knowledge of IEEE, NESC, and NERC standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and engineering guidance for multi-site substation projects across the public and private sectors.
• Develop protection and control design documentation, including one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Support design and construction through testing, commissioning, and field coordination.
• Prepare technical reports and calculations related to materials, installations, and compliance.
