Job summary

Pike Engineering in Fort Mill, SC is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Design professional to deliver safe, cost-effective design and drafting projects. You will create P&C drawings, interpret complex schematics up to 500kV, mentor junior staff, and manage project budgets and schedules.

The role requires 5-7 years CAD design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, and a degree or coursework in utility CAD design.

Qualifications

5-7 years of CAD design experience in substation projects.
Ability to read and interpret P&C designs for utility stations through 500kV, including one lines, three lines, AC/DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and SCADA.
Experience mentoring designers/drafters and overseeing work quality and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities

Create substation P&C design drawings from client standards and industry best practices.
Read and interpret P&C designs through 500kV, including schematics and layouts.
Interpret specifications into engineering drawings.
Understand equipment arrangements in substation design.
Oversee junior staff and mentor designers/drafters.
Check designs for accuracy, appearance, and customer standards.
Collaborate with other design disciplines and communicate effectively.
Visit sites and advise on design issues.
Manage budgets and project schedules.
