Job summary

E4A Solutions is seeking a Senior Field Technician to perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and energization for utility substation projects across the Northeastern United States. You will support safe operation of transmission and distribution systems by verifying protection and control circuits and testing breakers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in substation testing, commissioning, or maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of protection and control systems and high-voltage equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and commissioning procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform point-to-point verification of control and protective relaying circuits before energization.
• Inspect and checkout transmission and distribution substation equipment, including 230 kV breakers.
• Conduct current injection and functional testing on 34.5 kV breakers to validate operation.
• Perform insulation resistance testing on control circuits and cables.
• Carry out in-service load checks and operational assessments for system readiness.
• Prepare and implement equipment isolation and restoration procedures for safe maintenance.
• Verify and troubleshoot breaker control circuits to prevent delays in turnover.
• Complete DRMCC checkout activities and document test results for turnover requirements.
