Job summary

E4A Solutions is seeking a Senior Field Technician to perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and energization activities for utility substation projects across the Northeastern United States. The role supports safe operation of transmission and distribution systems by verifying protection and control circuits and conducting relay checks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in substation testing, commissioning, or maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of protection and control systems and high-voltage equipment.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience on transmission and distribution utility projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills; able to lead field activities.

Responsibilities

• Verify control and protective relays circuits before energization.
• Inspect and checkout 230 kV circuit breakers and substation equipment.
• Perform current injection and functional testing on 34.5 kV breakers.
• Conduct insulation resistance testing on control circuits and cables.
• Perform in-service load checks and system readiness assessments.
• Prepare isolation and restoration procedures for safe maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and energize breaker control circuits to avoid delays.
• Document test results for project turnover requirements.
