Job summary

WSP is seeking a Substation Field Engineer (Senior Professional/Senior Engineer) for its offices in Amarillo, Lubbock, Denver, and Minneapolis. You will provide technical guidance on transmission/substation projects, lead field engineering activities, and mentor staff across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years post-education experience as an electrical engineer on large capital projects.
• Experience with operations and project controls for reporting and proposals.
• Proficient knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design/build, and permitting.
• Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Knowledge of electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, and compliance.
• Ability to perform technical computations and interpret plans and specs.
• Project management experience for small to mid-size projects.
• Ability to lead inspections and coordinate with field personnel.
• Strong written and verbal communication for engineering audiences.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and adhere to QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and guidance for multi-site due diligence, design, development, and construction of substations and related facilities.
• Lead complex engineering assignments and develop new techniques, procedures, and materials.
• Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on projects and contracts.
• Provide field engineering leadership for installation, testing, inspections, and commissioning.
• Develop and review technical deliverables including designs, calculations, and reports.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

Engineer in Training Certification

Essential Professional Licensure/Certification
