Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Substation Field Engineer (Intermediate Professional/Staff Engineer) to join our client's offices in Amarillo, Lubbock, Denver and Minneapolis. The role blends field and office work to support due diligence, design, construction, and commissioning of substations and related power projects.

You will assist senior engineers, prepare calculations and drawings, coordinate with internal and external teams, and help ensure safety and quality standards across assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of post‑education experience in an electrical engineering capacity.
• Knowledge of electrical construction codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply foundational engineering knowledge to support projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with design and engineering assignments, including calculations, drawings, material selection, and evaluation of equipment and systems.
• Coordinate with internal team members and external partners to support project execution as directed by senior staff.
• Contribute to projects of small to moderate size and complexity while developing core engineering competencies.
• Prepare and update technical documentation such as calculations, drawings, test data, reports, and specifications with review from senior engineers.
