Edison Power Constructors in Fairfield, CA is seeking a Senior Estimating Specialist for substations. You will develop detailed cost estimates, analyze scope and drawings, and collaborate with subcontractors to ensure competitive bids and accurate budgets.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in substation estimating, EPC exposure, and strong B2W, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint skills. The role emphasizes leadership, document control, and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in Substations on the West Coast.
• Experience with EPC projects is a plus.
• B2W Estimating software experience (minimum 4 years).
• Proficiency in B2W, Excel, Microsoft Project and PowerPoint.
• Strong understanding of substations construction means and methods (Electrical and civil).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to establish, develop, and maintain subcontractor and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of detailed cost estimates using B2W and Hybrid estimating.
• Analyze project scope, drawings, specs, and RFPs to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Engage subcontractors early, issue RFPs, and evaluate proposals using Best Value templates.
• Collaborate with scheduling to define milestones, durations, and float.
• Maintain rigorous document control across pursuit files and quotes.
• Perform constructability reviews and risk analysis; maintain risk registry and contingencies.
• Mentor junior estimators and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
