Job summary

ENTRUST Solutions Group invites a Senior Substation Engineer to join near the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. You will lead complex projects, perform detailed design, and guide junior engineers while ensuring quality drawings and calculations.

Role involves coordination with civil/structural, protection and controls, and automation teams, plus site visits and scoping meetings. Travel up to 15% in the continental U.S. is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer licensure or able to obtain in the next year.
• 6–10 years of substation engineering experience, preferably at an engineering consulting firm.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% within the continental U.S.
• Must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex substation projects, collaborating with internal multidiscipline teams from estimating through commissioning.
• Review and produce physical design drawings such as General Arrangement, Elevations, Grounding Plans, Conduit Plans, and foundations.
• Perform grounding, lightning protection, conduit fill, and substation sizing calculations; conduct AC/DC studies.
• Proficient with substation protection and control design and industry standards.
• Review and produce one-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel elevations.
• Work with civil/structural, protection and controls, and automation teams;
• Conduct site visits, attend scoping meetings, and monitor project performance metrics.
