Job summary

WSP's Federal Power and Energy Team seeks a Lead Substation Electrical Engineer in the United States with locations including Boise, ID; Honolulu, HI; Virginia Beach, VA; or Huntsville, AL. The role leads substation design and related engineering activities for DoD projects.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, develop schematics, protective relaying, grounding and SCADA designs, and ensure compliance with UFCs, NEC, and IEEE standards while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• PE license and DoD project experience are highly valued.
• US citizenship may be required for some assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design and project execution across multiple concurrent efforts.
• Review design documents, develop single/three-line diagrams, and layouts.
• Coordinate with owners, disciplines, and subcontractors to meet requirements.
• Mentor entry- and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Prepare technical reports and support field investigations and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with UFCs, NEC, and IEEE standards.
