Job summary
Jacobs is seeking a Senior Substation Designer to deliver Protection & Control and Physical Design packages for utility, industrial, and data center substations. You will develop wiring diagrams, cable routing, and layouts and coordinate with multiple disciplines across projects from concept through commissioning.
You possess 12+ years in substation design, strong NEC/NESC/IEEE knowledge, and hands-on experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation/Bentley Substation. Hybrid work model offered.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering tech or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of substation design experience.
- Experience with P&C and Physical Design for AIS and GIS substations.
- Knowledge of 12 kV through 500 kV projects and NEC/NESC/IEEE standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complete P&C point-to-point wiring design packages.
- Prepare panel wiring diagrams, field interconnections, and relay layouts.
- Develop cable schedules and routing plans.
- Size DC/AC distribution breakers and fuses.
- Create station one-line diagrams and equipment layouts.
- Coordinate design with civil, structural, and protection disciplines.
- Review design deliverables for quality and compliance.
