Jacobs is seeking a Senior Substation Designer to deliver P&C and Physical Design packages for AIS and GIS substations, from conceptual through construction support. You will mentor junior designers, maintain design quality, and ensure compliance with NEC/NESC/IEEE standards while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes supporting projects from 12 kV to 500 kV, with hybrid work arrangements in the US and opportunities for career growth in a global design environment.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of substation design experience.
• Experience in both P&C and Physical Design for AIS and GIS Substations.
• Experience with 12 kV through 500 kV projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with quality and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complete P&C and physical design packages.
• Prepare wiring diagrams, layouts, and panel drawings.
• Develop bills of materials and project documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, clients, and contractors.
• Provide technical guidance to junior designers and drafters.
• Support design reviews and QA/QC processes.
