Job summary

WSP in San Diego, CA seeks a Senior Substation Project Engineer to support the Data Center Infrastructure Team. You will lead multidisciplinary efforts in site evaluation, planning, and design of electrical substations for mega-data centers.

Responsibilities include leading design packages, coordinating with clients and utilities, overseeing protection and control, grounding, SCADA integration, and ensuring QA/QC. Travel may be required occasionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of substation design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Ability to lead design packages and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead site evaluation, infrastructure planning, and integration.
• Oversee design work from initiation to design.
• Interface with clients, utilities, and stakeholders.
• Review deliverables: plans, elevations, wiring diagrams.
• Provide QA/QC oversight and mentor junior staff.
