Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Lead Transmission Substation Commissioning Engineer to verify that equipment commissioning conforms to contract requirements and design feasibility, while guiding engineers, technicians, and craft staff.

The role covers travel across the Midwest (WI, IA, MN, TX, LA, MS) with a 10 on/4 off schedule. Safety and quality are embedded in every task, and you will ensure timely turnover to the client.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 Hour Training is required for minimum qualifications.
• NICET or NETA certification preferred and startup experience is valued.
• Strong supervisory and communications skills, plus planning and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Participates in preparation and maintenance of a detailed commissioning schedule.
• Plans commissioning activities and milestones.
• Provides supervision to technicians, engineers, and craft staff on staff.
• Ensures compliance with specifications and contracts and timely turnover to client.
• Reviews protection system relay calibration and test results and provides troubleshooting support.
• Oversees documentation review and post-commissioning activities.
