Job summary

IMT Insurance is seeking a Claims Recovery Specialist III to lead complex subrogation and recovery efforts across multiple lines. You will investigate, negotiate, and resolve high-exposure recovery matters, acting as a technical resource for the team and mentoring colleagues to improve processes.

The role emphasizes arbitration strategy, liability analysis, and collaborative work with claims leadership, underwriting, and external partners to drive favorable outcomes in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible claims adjusting, subrogation, recovery, or related claims experience.
• Prior arbitration experience required; industry designations such as AIC, CPCU, ARM, or SCLA are preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of property and casualty claims handling, liability investigation, subrogation principles, and recovery practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in complex negotiations and conflict resolution with influence without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with data-driven decision making.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Exceptional organization, prioritization, and time-management skills; ability to work independently while collaborating with stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities through mentoring, coaching, training, or serving as a technical resource.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations involving liability, coverage, and subrogation to identify recovery opportunities.
• Manage a portfolio of complex, high-dollar recovery files through resolution.
• Negotiate settlements with carriers, attorneys, and responsible parties.
• Develop and execute strategies for challenging claims with multiple parties and jurisdictional issues.
• Prepare and manage arbitration submissions and defend company positions.
• Review arbitration decisions and escalate or pursue alternative recovery methods.
• Serve as a technical resource on liability investigations and arbitration filings.
• Assist management with training, onboarding, and mentoring team members.
