Job summary

Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions is seeking a Subrogation Attorney to join our Claims Counsel team in a hybrid schedule from Denver, Anaheim, or New York City offices. You will litigate subrogation matters across property, marine, financial and cyber portfolios, handle pre-suit and litigation stages, and supervise staff as files develop.

We require 7–10 years of subrogation litigation, first or second chair experience and a JD.

Qualifications

• 7 - 10 years of experience litigating property and/or maritime subrogation claims.
• First or second chair experience.
• Substantial experience with research, discovery depositions, mediations and trial preparation required.
• JD required.

Responsibilities

• Handle a consistent workload of subrogation files representing Intact’s interests in property, maritime, financial and cyber matters.
• Work with Lead Attorney on all aspects of pre-suit and litigated files, including retaining experts and coordinating inspections.
• Conduct all appropriate legal action to protect subrogation and recovery interests.
• Obtain authority to negotiate settlements and interface with Subrogation Claims department as files develop.
• Review and report large loss cases to Lead Attorney and schedule conferences to review files.
• Maintain knowledge of legal environments and apply it to cases.
• Direct paralegals and staff in document production and litigation file management.
