Job summary

Boston Government Services, LLC (BGS) seeks a Subject Matter Expert II to support the Bettis Atomic Laboratory in West Mifflin, PA. The SME II will apply proven expertise in project management, design, and nuclear operations to guide engineering teams and ensure compliant technical delivery.

The role requires strong communication, safety and regulatory knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with DOE-EMCBC and facility staff on complex projects. Onsite work is required at Bettis Laboratory.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, science or relevant technical field of study.
• 20+ years of experience in Project Management Support.
• Experience communicating with all levels of staff and contractors.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct daily tasks to support design efforts.
• Oversee construction, startup, and operations/maintenance of complex high-tech systems.
• Render opinions on engineering, management, and technical issues.
• Provide recommendations to design and construction teams in areas of expertise.
• Provide independent reviews and assessments in specialized areas.
• Guide project teams to deliver results and apply work standards.
• Review work quality and communicate goals and policies to staff.
• Coordinate with functional organizations; may supervise entry-level personnel.
