Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT is seeking a Senior Subcontracts Administrator to manage procurement of complex subcontracted materials and services. The role focuses on developing specifications, terms, and competitive bids for high-dollar purchases.

The position requires strong negotiation, blueprints-reading and contract administration skills, with responsibilities spanning supplier development, award writing, and ensuring audit-ready documentation for government compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field.
• 7-10 years of related experience required.
• Broad knowledge of procurement or contracts administration.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop subcontract specifications, work statements and terms and conditions for procurement of specialized commodities; prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences, analyze and evaluate proposals.
• Negotiate complex subcontract provisions, including elements of cost negotiations.
• Develop new suppliers, write awards, and administer subsequent subcontracts.
• Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or changes to subcontracts.
• Assist in the development of subcontract policies and procedures.
• Maintain liaison with suppliers/subcontractors and necessary company departments on progress, delivery schedules, etc.
• Visit national and/or international supplier facilities as necessary.
• Use automated information systems to produce and track purchase orders and related documentation.
• Ensure documentation supports government audits.
• Identify problem areas/issues; recommend and/or take corrective action.
• Make presentations to company management as required.
• May assign and direct the work of subordinate procurement personnel.
