Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT, seeks a Team Leader, Supplier Quality to plan, lead and supervise the Supplier Quality Team to support manufacturing and delivery of products. You will oversee source inspections, first article inspections, supplier surveys, audits and corrective actions.

The role requires hands-on leadership, robust supplier management, and risk mitigation to ensure quality and delivery performance. Travel up to 25% and on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
• Broad knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
• Thorough understanding of ISO 9000/AS9100 regulations (certification preferred).
• 8+ years in a manufacturing environment; 7–10 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supplier rating system to define total cost of ownership.
• Act as primary interface with suppliers to resolve technical problems.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Implement a supplier approval system and qualify suppliers to do business.
• Possibly conduct or witness first articles internally or at the supplier.
• Write validation plans when needed.
• Lead supplier audits to drive standardization and continuous improvement.
• Oversee lean initiatives at supplier facilities and implement lean manufacturing processes.
