Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Supply Chain Subcontracts Specialist to lead procurement of specialized goods and services and own subcontract management with key suppliers.

Based in Rolling Meadows, IL on a 9/80 hybrid schedule, you will coordinate with contracts, engineering, quality and planning, develop subcontract specs, analyze proposals, negotiate terms, and monitor supplier performance to reduce costs and manage risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in supply chain, business management or related field, or a Master’s Degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience in supply chain, business management or related field
• Experience with Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts or other related field
• US Citizenship and Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and procuring specialized goods and services.
• Owning contractual management for the supplier.
• Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program, and end-users.
• Prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences, and analyze and evaluate proposals. Negotiate subcontract provisions, select or recommend subcontractors, write awards, and administering resulting subcontracts.
• Develops subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized materials, equipment, and services
• In conjunction with quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as the supplier's ability to support required delivery schedules.
• Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations.
• Manages the performance of subcontracts, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures, including import/export regulations.
• Employ sound business practices and assess supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
• Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded.
• Manage and develop strategic/key suppliers. Review and approve supplier payments as needed.
• Strong strategic, innovative, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge in the MS Office suite, including MS Teams, OneNote, and Excel.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas, and building reports.
