Job description

Energy Dome is seeking an experienced Senior Subcontract Manager to lead sourcing, tendering, negotiation, and subcontract management for our utility-scale energy storage projects and manufacturing facilities in North America.

The role will oversee the procurement of General Contractors, EPC partners and construction subcontractors, working closely with Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, Legal, Finance, and HSE to secure competitive, commercially robust contracts and support successful project execution.

This role is critical to making Energy Dome solutions competitive. The successful candidate will align suppliers and internal stakeholders, create strong competitive tension, independently close complex contracts, and materially reduce project cost without compromising quality, risk, schedule, or execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and competitive tenders for General Contractors, EPC contractors, and construction subcontractors.
  • Build, qualify, and manage a robust and competitive contractor network across North America.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies that challenge pricing, scope, technical assumptions, and commercial terms.
  • Independently drive negotiations from initial proposal through final contract signature, ensuring risk mitigation.
  • Negotiate and administer EPC, construction, and service agreements, including change orders, claims, warranties, and disputes.
  • Continuously benchmark market pricing and improve project economics, targeting reductions of up to 30% from initial supplier or contractor proposals where commercially achievable.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of procurement and contract management experience in EPC, construction, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects, with a proven track record in structuring and negotiating Lump-Sum and fixed-price agreements.
  • Proven success leading competitive tenders and negotiating complex contracts with General Contractors, EPCs, and subcontractors, backed by a strong commercial mindset to challenge supplier assumptions and secure significantly improved commercial terms.
  • Excellent commercial judgment, autonomy, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
  • Familiarity with standard construction and engineering contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, DBIA, AIA), as well as a technical understanding of mechanical, civil, or industrial projects, is considered a plus

We are looking for a commercially tough, hands-on dealmaker who can create competition, align suppliers, drive significant cost reductions, and close contracts.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is dependent on experience, qualifications, and industry background.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Participation in Energy Dome's Stock Option Plan.
  • 100% Employer paid Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Generous PTO (25 days starting Day One) and company holidays.
