Job summary
Adient is seeking a Studio Engineer in Plymouth, MI to creatively solve design issues affecting aesthetics and manufacturing goals across Phase 0–2 of the Adient PLUS process. You will develop solutions to ensure that Class A surfaces are feasible and meet internal and OEM design expectations.
The role requires CATIA V5/V6 CAD work with OEM data, collaboration with Industrial Design, and involvement in PSDR discussions to determine when Class A surfacing can begin.
Qualifications
- Prefers a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Experience with automotive design projects is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and feasibility assessment abilities.
Responsibilities
- Creatively problem solve design issues affecting aesthetics or manufacturing goals.
- Develop solutions during design development to ensure Class A surfaces are feasible.
- Work in CAD (CATIA V5/V6) with data from Adient/OEM Engineering.
- Collaborate with Industrial Design for aesthetics/ideation.
- Lead PSDR discussions to determine if Class A surfacing can begin.
- Support Phase 0–2 activities with data generation and feasibility checks.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines to align deliverables.
- Maintain PSDR-related issue lists and ensure timely PSDR delivery.
