Job summary

Calqulate is seeking an experienced Structures Superintendent to lead field operations for large-scale heavy civil construction projects in California, focusing on structures, concrete, earthwork, grading, and major infrastructure improvements.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex activities such as bridges, foundations, excavation, mass grading, and site development, with a proven track record of safety, schedule, and quality compliance on large public works.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent construction experience.
• 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing heavy civil construction projects.
• Experience leading projects valued at $200M+ preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, sequencing, and field operations.
• Proven experience managing structural concrete and earthwork operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily field construction operations for large-scale heavy civil projects.
• Manage activities including structures, concrete placement, earthwork, grading, excavation, and site development.
• Oversee self-performed work crews, subcontractors, equipment operators, and field personnel.
• Plan and coordinate daily work activities to meet project milestones, schedules, and production goals.
• Ensure construction is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Provide field leadership for structural concrete operations, including foundations, bridge structures, retaining walls, and other concrete elements.
• Coordinate mass grading, excavation, embankment, soil placement, compaction, and site preparation activities.
