Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation seeks a Structures Superintendent to lead all structural construction activities on a large heavy civil project.

You will oversee foundations, concrete structures, precast components, retaining walls, marine structures, and other structural installations, coordinating field operations, sequencing, manpower, crane operations, rigging, and heavy lifts to meet schedule, budget, and project specs.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of heavy civil construction experience, preferably structural.
• Supervisory experience managing crews, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of structural concrete, foundations, formwork, reinforcing steel, and precast structures.
• Experience with rigging, crane operations, heavy lifts, and structural installations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, lift plans, and schedules.
• Strong understanding of construction safety, quality control, scheduling, and field coordination.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and enforce safety policies, upholding Safety First.
• Manage all structural construction activities, foremen, field crews, and subcontractors.
• Oversee foundations, formwork, reinforcing steel, concrete, precast structures, and other installations.
• Coordinate crane operations, rigging, heavy lifts, and safe installation of structural components.
• Assist with lift planning, rigging configurations, temporary works, and sequencing.
• Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and inspections to meet schedules.
• Develop three-week look-ahead schedules and daily work plans.
• Monitor productivity, labor hours, equipment utilization, and project progress.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, safety, and quality control teams to resolve field issues.
• Lead, coach, and support foremen and field personnel.
