Job summary

TYLin International, a global infrastructure consultant, seeks a Senior Resident Engineer/Structures Representative in Santa Monica. You will act as the company and client representative at the work site, overseeing structures construction to ensure adherence to plans and specs, and reporting to the Sector Leader.

You will independently manage complex bridge construction items, supervise field teams, mentor staff, review submittals, coordinate with the contractor, and ensure safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License (State of California Preferred).
• 15+ years' experience with concepts and practices of complex bridge construction.
• Experience as Structures Representative on at least three bridge projects with minimum construction value of $50 million.
• Must be able to write effective and concise review comments, and reports.
• Must be able to articulate work with Contractors and team members to resolve field issues.
• Previous construction management experience for Caltrans projects or similar with Caltrans oversight.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent analysis and review of falsework plans.
• Perform independent analysis and review of shoring plans.
• Perform independent analysis of other structures construction-related submittals and plans.
• Perform field inspection of all falsework elements.
• Ensure application of project specifications and execution of plans.
• Provide written progress, technical and special issues reports.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for activities required for the project.
• Coordinate with the contractor on work planning and execution.
• Act as liaison with Project Manager.
• Manage project documentation and ensure contract compliance.
• Enforce construction safety rules and regulations.
• Review contractor pay estimates and submittals.
• Direct field inspection staff and provide mentorship.
