Job summary

Mannik Smith Group in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Sr Structures Project Manager to lead planning, design, and execution of transportation structural projects. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality, serving as primary client contact and guiding a team of engineers, designers, and drafters.

The ideal candidate holds a PE or SE license, a bachelor’s or master’s in structural or civil eng, 15+ years of relevant experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• PE or SE license required.
• 15+ years of structural engineering and project management experience.
• Proven track record of managing structural projects.
• Strong proficiency in structural analysis software (OpenBridge/LEAP, MIDAS, OpenRoads, MicroStation).
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with cross-functional teams, clients and contractors.
• Experience in multiple states is a plus.
• Project and client management experience required.
• Ability to guide junior staff and oversee design and detailing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects, primarily in transportation.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control for successful completion.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Provide technical expertise in structural analysis, design, and materials selection.
• Oversee and mentor engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, review, and approve project documentation and specifications.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve technical challenges.
• Support business development, including proposals and client presentations.
• Provide clients with technical support on transportation structures issues.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
