Job summary

RTX in Middletown, CT is seeking a structural analyst to provide analytical support for GTF programs, focusing on durability and structural integrity of compressor components. You will apply FEM and classical methods to assess strength, vibration, fatigue, and containment, working with multi-disciplinary teams and documenting results for management and customers.

The role includes oversight of junior engineers and coordination with internal and external teams to advance engineering standard work

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required with 5+ years experience or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience using FEM for stress/deflection, vibration, and fatigue/LCF/HCF analyses.
• Background in structural analysis and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide structures analytical support for GTF programs and ensure durability of compressor components.
• Support preliminary and detailed design across development, verification, manufacturing, and service.
• Use FE and classical methods for strength, vibration, fatigue, damage tolerance, and containment analyses.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and present results to management and customers.
• Oversee less experienced engineers and outsourced tasks; guide tech work processes.
