Job summary

Jobtailor in Phoenix is seeking a capable engineer to design, develop, and analyze static gas turbine engine components. You will perform strength, fatigue, containment, heat transfer and other stress analyses, supporting tests and communicating with project teams.

Responsibilities include resource planning, design reviews, and presenting to customers. You will document work and contribute to department process improvements, leveraging ANSYS and hand calculations to ensure robust engine designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• Minimum of 4 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines
• Expertise in linear static, nonlinear/elastic-plastic, fatigue, modal, shock, harmonic and crack growth analyses
• Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software and classical hand calculation methods

Responsibilities

• Design, development and analysis of static gas turbine engine components
• Performing strength, fatigue, containment, heat transfer, and various other types of stress analyses
• Test support and communicating with Project engineering teams
• Resource and manpower planning and conduction of design reviews
• Presentations to internal and external customers and ensuring proper documentation of work performed
• Engaging in department process improvement initiatives
