Job summary

Horrocks seeks a Structures Engineer to design and analyze vertical structures for site and civil projects, delivering PS&E documents in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. You will perform structural analyses using Enercalc, L-Pile, STAAD and related Bentley tools, and contribute to municipal and federal projects.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 7–10 years of design experience, and PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within a year.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 7 to 10 years of design experience required.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain PE within one year.
• Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices; some travel required.
• Experience in multidisciplinary teams is a plus.
• Design Build and Alternative Delivery experience a plus.
• Established relationships with local clients (e.g., DOT) a plus.
• Solid understanding of vertical structure projects and various construction types.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze vertical structures for site/civil projects.
• Prepare designs, structural calculations, cost estimates, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to produce PS&E documents on time and within budget.
• Perform structural analysis using Enercalc, L-Pile, STAAD and other Bentley software.
• Design and analyze concrete vaults, culverts, storage tanks, and booster station structures.
• Evaluate foundations, abutments, and specialty components for federal projects.
• Design and analyze retaining walls for roadway or site projects.
• Establish and maintain client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
• Assist in expanding the firm's regional presence in transportation and structural engineering.
• Serve as structures lead on smaller projects and coordinate staff and design efforts.
